The Friends of Raincliffe Woods (FoRWoods) formed in March 2005 after a series of public meeting held to discuss issues in and around the woodland. A Core Group was elected to act as a committee to keep the Friends informed of activities.

Membership of the Friends is free and is open to anyone interested in Raincliffe Woods.

 The Friends aim to...

• Conserve, enhance  & protect the natural beauty, geology, flora, fauna, historical interest and the facilities of Raincliffe Woods
• To promote the woodland, Increase public awareness about Raincliffe Woods and reflect the concerns of the wider community.
• Encourage responsible use of the woodland.
• Organise events and activities in the woodland.
• Act as an advisory body for the community and woodland users.
• To support the use of the woodland as an educational resource.
