Raincliffe Woods offers over 400 acres of open access, as a result you are free to walk wherever you wish in Raincliffe Woods, however we would request that, in order to reduce damage to flora and keep erosion to a minimum, visitors keep to footpaths, Bridleways and tracks wherever possible.
We have had many requests for information regarding walks in the woodland and until recently there were no formal routes laid out however in 2005 the ‘Nature Trail was opened and in 2007 members of FoRWoods devised and way marked three circular routes intended to offer visitors
an introduction to the woodland.
In addition there is the Geology Trail which starts at Green Gate car park and
runs through Forge Valley Woods, a national nature reserve .
