The woodland offers over 400acres of open Access in an informal woodland, footpaths
are unmarked and visitors are welcome to walk any where within the woodland, however
we have had many requests for information regarding walks in the woodland therefore,
as an introduction to Raincliffe Woods, the following trails were way marked by FoRWoods
members with the support of
Rowntree Trail.
A circular walk from Throxenby Mere, some steep terrain with view points from Lady Graces ride across Scarborough and Seamer Moor.
Graham Trail
A circular walk starting from Raincliffe Gate car park and following middle road (track) through the woodland, returning via part of the Nature Trail.
Wallis Trail
A figure of eight walk which can be started at either Raincliffe Gate car park or Green Gate car park. It follows part of geology trail and includes viewpoints and picnic sites. Steep in places with exposed sections.
Approximate time 2½hrs. Follow Blue arrows
Apart from these three routes there is also the excellent Nature Trail which was devised by the Parks & Countryside services. Click here for more details.
Also the Geology Trail which runs through part of Raincliffe Woods and Forge Valley woods. Click here for further details on this route.
